If you want to experience an amazing walk in Madeira, that is not too touristy, join us in this adventure on the East side of the Island.
This hike is about 14 km and takes 5 to 6 hours.
We start easy, with about a 5,5 km walk alongside a Levada, where we will be able to see some of the vegetables and fruits grown in Machico.
Then we start our 1,5 km uphill to Boca do Risco Viewpoint, where we will stop for a few minutes for a rest and to enjoy the views.
It’s from Boca do Risco that the fun starts! From here, we’ll hike towards Caniçal, on a trail with dramatic views of the East Coast. There will be plenty of ups and downs, some areas with sheer drops. It is quite a technical trail, so come prepared for it!
This is a walk for people that are used to hiking and that are prepared for the physical effort. It is not recommended for people that suffer from vertigo or are afraid of heights.
